Sharing & Teaching what I most need to learn

I was introduced to the Path of Yoga during my first semester at University at the age of 18.  I had been in a car accident that seized up my entire body and left me with unrelenting low back pain, Hatha Yoga practice became a part of my daily life.  I continued my exploration and practiced in local ashrams, learning and practicing the Eight Limbs of Yoga with dedicated teachers from varying schools of Yogic thought.
I began experiencing increased bouts of anxiety related to childhood trauma, depression settled in, I made a serious of decisions that were not in my best interest.  My self worth plummeted, my place in the world felt unimportant and untethered.
I happened across a book of Acu-Yoga and a sliver of hope glimmered for me.  The notion that I had the capacity to bring healing to myself and others was a buoy I clung to desperately and slowly lead to embark on a journey of studying and practicing Acupressure, Acu-Yoga and healing massage therapy.

Updated Bio

Rebeca is a Bay Area born and raised first generation MexiJew who crawled onto the path of ancient healing systems by way of her own search for the end to her suffering. Internalized oppression, childhood sexual trauma, and recovery from substance addiction are all some of the transmuted swords and wands she wields making her way through the world. Rebeca began practicing the Eight Limbs of Yoga at age 18 with Lars Caughlin and Bobbie Norisse at SF State and has continued practicing and learning becoming a certified Yoga and Acu-Yoga "teacher", though she prefers the term, Transmitter, as students and peers are also her teachers. Her current studio is located in the Oakland Acupuncture Projects Laurel Clinic in Oakland California where she applies strict safety measures in care for herself and the community. Online classes and workshops are also a safe place to explore transforming stress into strength with the mix of functional movement, mat pilates, the Eight Limbs of Yoga and dynamic meditation for mindful movement.   c. 2021

  Healing Alchemist
A healing alchemist aims to thrive, not just survive.  Is not defined by societal or past narratives related to the body, or being healed.  Leans into their ancestral and ancient systems of healing, or that of other cultures with respect, humility, and regular acknowledgement of what elements are being lent to them by other cultures, i.e. not participating in cultural appropriation. Owns their priviledge.
A healing alchemist seeks community, language, and communications outside of language to reframe, redefine, and transmute their internalized oppression, trauma, and story.

Testimonials

Personal experience is the best yardstick by which to measure a qualified, expert, massage therapist.

Rebeca is a wonderful and talented massage therapist. I have had many massages since moving to Oakland and Rebeca is by far the best. I appreciated her energy, her technique and above all, how much time she spent attending to every area of my body. She walked me through a few great moves to practice on myself after and they have really helped me work through issues in my shoulders.  I felt the difference in my body for several days afterward. I would highly recommend Rebeca to anyone searching for that perfect massage..

Rebeca is incredible. Top five massages of my life (and I've had many)--probably top three. She is intuitive and connects easily with her client's needs. She can go deep, but also treads carefully on the spots that are tender and holding too much stuff. She knows the body and body mechanics inside out and is willing to share her ideas about posture and wellness to maintain health. Highly, highly recommend without question. I'm telling everyone I know. Add a description here

I highly recommend Rebecca. She has a strong intuitive sense to deeply connect with the body and mind while massaging. Best massage ever...

AMAZING! I've been having trouble with sleep and stress; I live in my head and have been working to get more into my body. Rebeca really helped me tap into the areas that are holding stress, and helped me release some long-held tension. She is authentic, attentive, caring and intuitive about your needs. I was blown away by how much thought she gives to tailoring the massage to exactly what I needed. I felt blissful upon leaving and want many other people to experience the wonderful loving services Rebeca offers. What a gift she is!Add a description here
